Abstract

This review examines how Paz Fernández-Rivera González addresses a complex issue: namely, how gender has been used as a determining category for the inclusion and exclusion of certain individuals and groups within the legal and social order. The analysis is grounded in rigorous historical scholarship, free from anachronisms, and demonstrates a remarkable command of both past and present legal systems, inviting reflection on the much-needed proposals for lege ferenda.
